Governors

Governors

The Governors at Greenhall are responsible for overseeing many of the strategic decisions of the school. They act as a 'critical friend' to the Headteacher, supporting, challenging and representing different parts of the school community. The Governing Body works in close partnership with the Headteacher, staff and the local authority.

'Governors hold leaders to account for all that they do. They have an excellent working knowledge of the school and participate in a range of activities to help them understand how provision can be developed further. Governors have considerable experience and specialist knowledge in areas such as education and safeguarding. They are well aware of their statutory duties and leave no stone unturned.'

                 Ofsted, 2018.

A word from the Chair...

I want to welcome you all to our School on behalf of the Governing Board.

We are keen that Governors, staff, families and children work as a team in continuing to run a happy, creative and fun learning environment where everyone feels valued. We are very proud of Greenhall and want to ensure that we continue to provide the highest quality early-years educational experience for our children.

We know that raising our children is wonderful but that it isn't always easy or straightforward, especially when there are additional needs. We also know that it can sometimes feel like a battle, so we want to make sure that one area you don't have to worry about is school. Greenhall is a community and we are keen to ensure that everyone feels they can get any support, help and advice needed to make life that little bit easier.

We have a fantastic team at the School with a wealth of knowledge and experience – teaching staff, office and support staff, our school nurse, our transport and escort teams and the Governors – all of whom are dedicated the happiness, progress and welfare of our children and their families.

Governors are appointed to ensure that the School's objectives are met and that planning for the future is both visionary and realistic. We are here to support and encourage everyone in the School so that our children have access to the best education they deserve. So do contact us for anything – whether that's any ideas or thoughts you have about the progress of the school, information on specialist services, funding or grant information...or even if you just want to talk to another parent that probably get as little sleep as you do! If we don't know the answer, we'll find someone that does.

The children at Greenhall are amazing – we know this from firsthand experience - Jo and her team are proud of them all. But this letter also gives the Governing Board an opportunity to thank you, the families. The love, support and encouragement you give to your children is a huge part of their learning and development and helps make Greenhall the fantastic place it is.

We very much look forward to working with you all and hope to see you very soon.
