Sensory Diets
At Greenhall, we recognise that if a child’s sensory needs are not met, they are not in a position to learn. Thus, all of our staff have been trained in how to identify and meet a child's sensory needs. We have also purchased the support of an Occupational Therapist to assess and develop programmes to address children’s needs.
We have a range of equipment to support children’s sensory needs including Paddy’s playground, a hammock in the sensory room, a bouncy mat, spinning chairs and platforms, along with other resources. These provide opportunities to meet the sensory needs of some of our learners and help them to self-regulate.
Where appropriate, sensory circuits are built into the daily routine to provide opportunities to regulate in order that they are able to focus on tailored learning activities.
